Neurotoxins in Bethlehem, PA at Posh Medical Spa

Precise Results From a Provider You Can Trust

Neurotoxin treatments are the single most popular aesthetic procedure in America, and also the single most provider-dependent. The same product, in different hands, can produce completely different outcomes. At Posh Medical Spa in Bethlehem, PA, every injection is performed by a nationally recognized aesthetic injector and certified trainer with over twelve years of dedicated experience.

What Are Neurotoxins and How Do They Work?

Neurotoxins are injectable treatments that temporarily relax the facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. You know them by brand names like Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify. All three contain a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, which works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that tell a specific muscle to contract.

When you squint, frown, or raise your eyebrows, the same muscles fire over and over again. Over years, those repeated contractions create creases in the overlying skin that eventually become visible even when your face is completely at rest. Neurotoxin injections interrupt that cycle. A small amount of product is placed into the targeted muscle with a very fine needle, reducing its activity just enough to let the skin above it smooth and soften.

The treatment does not affect muscles you were not trying to treat and it does not eliminate your ability to make expressions. When performed by an experienced injector who understands the anatomy, the result is a face that looks rested, relaxed, and entirely like you.

Most appointments take fifteen to twenty minutes with no downtime.

Common Treatment Areas

We treat every area where neurotoxins are clinically appropriate. Below is an overview of the most common treatment zones and what each one addresses.

Lip Flip

A small amount of neurotoxin placed along the upper lip border relaxes the orbicularis oris muscle, which is the muscle that curls the lip inward when you smile. The result is a slight outward roll of the upper lip that creates a fuller, more defined lip line without the use of dermal filler. It is a subtle enhancement that pairs well with lip filler for patients who want both volume and shape.

Forehead Lines

Horizontal lines caused by raising the brows. We pay particular attention to dosing in this area because overtreating the forehead is one of the most common mistakes in the industry. The goal is to soften the lines without dropping the brow or flattening your natural expression.

Crow’s Feet

Fine lines that fan out from the corners of the eyes when you smile or squint. The skin around the eyes is thinner than almost any other area of the face, and the muscles in this region are small and layered. Treating crow’s feet well requires a light hand and a thorough understanding of periorbital anatomy to soften the lines while keeping your smile natural.

Brow Lift

A strategic placement technique that relaxes the muscles pulling the brow downward, creating a subtle lift that opens up the entire eye area. This is not surgery. It is a few precisely placed units that make you look more awake and refreshed without anyone being able to pinpoint what changed.

Platysmal Bands

The vertical bands that run down the front of the neck and become more prominent with age as the platysma muscle loses tone. Neurotoxin injections along these bands can soften their appearance and create a smoother, more youthful neck contour without surgery.

Frown Lines (11s)

The vertical creases between your eyebrows that can make you look angry, stressed, or tired even when you feel perfectly fine. This is the most frequently requested treatment area and the one where precise placement matters most. Technique here determines whether the result looks natural or overdone.

Bunny Lines

The small diagonal wrinkles that form on the sides of the nose when you scrunch your face. These are often overlooked during treatment but can make a noticeable difference in overall facial harmony when addressed.

ClinTox & Priapus Tox

Advanced neurotoxin applications for sexual wellness. Our team is trained and certified in these specialized techniques as part of a comprehensive approach to patient care that goes well beyond traditional cosmetic treatments.

Chin Dimpling

The orange peel or cobblestone texture on the chin caused by an overactive mentalis muscle. A few units placed into this muscle smooth the chin and create a cleaner, more refined lower face profile.

Masseter (Jaw Slimming)

The masseter is the large muscle that runs along each side of the jaw. When it is overactive, whether from clenching, grinding, or genetics, it can create a wider, more square jawline. Neurotoxin injections into the masseter reduce the bulk of this muscle over time, creating a slimmer, more tapered facial shape. Many patients also report significant relief from jaw tension and TMJ-related discomfort.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Neurotoxin injections in the underarms temporarily block the chemical signals that stimulate sweat glands, significantly reducing excessive sweating for several months at a time. This is an FDA-approved use of Botox and can be genuinely life-changing for patients who have struggled with hyperhidrosis.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Before Appointment

We will start with an honest conversation about your goals, your concerns, and your treatment history. If you have never had neurotoxin before, we will walk you through the entire process so you know exactly what to expect.  If you are coming from another provider, we will assess what has been done previously and build a plan that moves you in the right direction.

During Treatment

The injections themselves take roughly fifteen to twenty minutes. We use a fine needle and precise technique to minimize discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a brief pinch that lasts less than a second per injection site.

No numbing is required for the majority of patients, though we can accommodate it if you prefer.

After Treatment

You can return to your normal activities immediately. We ask that you avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for at least four hours and skip strenuous exercise for twenty-four hours. Results begin to appear within a few days, with most patients seeing full effect within one to two weeks depending on the product used. We are always available for follow-up questions or a complimentary touch-up if needed.

Why Patients Across the Lehigh Valley Choose Posh

There are a lot of places in the Lehigh Valley where you can get Botox. There are very few places where the person holding the needle is also the person who teaches other injectors how to do it.

Our lead injector, Tricia Vermilya is certified to teach Botox and filler courses at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced level. She is a nationally certified trainer for Victoria Threads, a former faculty instructor at the Institute of Laser Medicine, and has been named to the Registry of National Best Aesthetic Injectors in America.

Tricia has logged more than a decade of full-time injection experience, not as a side offering or weekend add-on, but as her primary clinical focus every single day.

That depth of training translates directly into your results. We will always be honest with you about what neurotoxins can accomplish and, just as importantly, what they cannot.

Patients drive from across Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown, and the surrounding Lehigh Valley communities to see us. Many of them tried other providers first and kept searching until they found a level of expertise that matched what they actually wanted from their results.

Three Products. The Right Choice for Your Face.

We carry Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify because the right product depends on your anatomy, your goals, and how your body responds. We will recommend the one that makes the most sense for you after a thorough assessment.

Botox

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2002 and remains the most widely studied neurotoxin in the world. It delivers reliable, precise results and is particularly effective for targeted areas like crow’s feet, the glabella (the area between your brows), and forehead lines. Most patients begin to see softening within three to five days, with full results visible at the seven to fourteen day mark. Those results typically last three to four months. Botox uses human serum albumin as a stabilizer and has decades of clinical safety data behind it.

Dysport

Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) has been available in the U.S. since 2009 and has a slightly thinner consistency than Botox, which allows it to diffuse more broadly from the injection site. That spreading quality makes it particularly effective for treating larger surface areas like the forehead, where a smooth, even result across the full treatment zone matters. Many patients notice results a little sooner than with Botox, with some softening visible within two to three days. Duration is comparable at three to four months. Dysport is part of the Galderma family of products, meaning it can be paired with Restylane fillers and Sculptra through the ASPIRE rewards program.

Daxxify

Daxxify (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) received FDA approval in September 2022 and represents the newest advancement in neurotoxin technology. It is the first and only neurotoxin that uses a proprietary peptide stabilizer instead of human or animal-derived proteins, making it a vegan-friendly formulation. The standout benefit is longevity. In clinical trials, half of all participants still showed little to no evidence of frown lines at the six-month mark, and some patients see results lasting even longer. Onset is also fast, with many patients reporting visible improvement within one to two days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do results last?

Botox and Dysport typically last three to four months. Daxxify can last up to six months or longer for some patients. Individual results vary based on your metabolism, the number of units used, and the specific treatment area. Patients who maintain a consistent treatment schedule often find that their results begin to last longer over time as the targeted muscles gradually weaken from reduced use.

Most patients find the discomfort minimal. The needles used for neurotoxin injections are among the smallest available, and the entire treatment is fast. You do not need to plan around recovery or pain management. If you are particularly sensitive, we can apply a topical numbing cream before your appointment.

Our entire approach is built around preserving natural facial movement and expression. We treat conservatively, adjust for your unique anatomy, and will always prioritize a result that looks like a refreshed version of you over one that looks overdone. You should still be able to raise your brows, smile fully, and express emotion after your treatment.

There is no single right age to begin. Some patients in their late twenties start preventive treatments to slow the formation of deep static lines before they become established. Others come in later to soften lines that are already visible at rest. We will assess where you are and recommend a plan that makes sense for your individual goals and timeline.

Absolutely. Many of our patients pair neurotoxin treatments with dermal fillers to address both dynamic wrinkles and volume loss in a single visit. Neurotoxins also complement skin rejuvenation treatments like chemical peels, microneedling, and laser procedures. We can design a comprehensive plan that addresses all of your concerns in a way that makes sense together.

That is exactly what the consultation is for. We will assess your anatomy, talk through your preferences and lifestyle, and recommend the product that will give you the best result. We carry all three specifically so that you have real options and are never limited to a single formulation.

Neurotoxins relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, which are the lines that appear when you make facial expressions. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, add volume beneath the skin to restore fullness, smooth static lines, and enhance facial contours. The two treatments address different concerns and are often used together for the most complete result.
